State Rep. Kimberly du Buclet releases annual community survey

May 16, 2024

As the Springfield legislative session winds down, local state Rep. Kimberly du Buclet (D-5th) is inviting constituents to complete an annual online community survey providing feedback on policy initiatives and priorities for the district.

“It is important to always include the people we serve when making decisions that ultimately affect them the most,” du Buclet said in a statement. “Every piece of legislation I advocate for is to improve it, and I cannot do that without hearing from the voices that call it home.”

The survey can be completed at shorturl.at/rwyLZ.

A former commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD), du Buclet was selected to replace Lamont Robinson as representative for the Illinois General Assembly’s 5th District last May, when he vacated the seat for his new role as 4th Ward alderman. She handily won re-election for the seat this March, capturing 77% of the vote.

Since May, she has been the primary sponsor on 31 bills, including measures to designate an Emmett Till Day in Illinois and to empower the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and city agencies to monitor Lake Michigan water quality.

“The will of the people is the foundation of any democracy, and it’s critical that we elected officials provide outlets - whether it’s town hall meetings, surveys or even suggestion boxes, to get that feedback from our citizens,” she said in a statement.
