Kimberly du Buclet represents the people of the 5th House district since May of 2023. Rep. du Buclet has formerly served as Vice President on the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC). She was also appointed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to serve on the Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC), a national advisory committee that helps implement various public health and environmental programs ensuring clean air, water, safe drinking water, and responsible waste disposal.

Beyond her passion for environmental conservation,  Rep. du Buclet is also a former Legislative and Community Affairs Director for the Chicago Park District and a former adjunct professor at Roosevelt University. Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, she attended the University of Chicago Lab School, after which she received a BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rep. du Buclet then returned to the South Side, receiving an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is also a mother of two and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Links, Inc.

Rep. du Buclet is also passionate about raising awareness about Black history and has introduced a bill to establish Emmett Till Day in Illinois. Rep. DuBuclet has also worked to pass a fiscally and socially balanced budget that makes impactful investments in Illinois’ fiscal house, government efficiency, and public safety along with substantial investments in local youth community and service-providing organizations, including 5 million dollars for Ada S. McKinley Services.
